You can't keep up with Shah Rukh Khan: Kanika Dhillon

Screenwriter Kanika Dhillon, who has co-written Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.one, has now turned author. She's credited with SRK's catchy dialogue from the film — "Other heroes wear a mask, I wear a heart."

Kanika started out working as an assistant director to Farah Khan, on Om Shanti Om, and then moved on to Red Chillies's Billu Barber, which was directed by Priyadarshan. So, how's it having King Khan as a boss? "Well, Shah Rukh Khan is like an encyclopedia. His knowledge and sharp mind keeps everyone on their toes. You cannot keep up with his pace, but he is patient and gracious enough to help, gives you a chance and a platform to flourish and, most importantly, if he believes in you, he will stand by you, no matter what others have to say."

Sanjay Dutt invited SRK for Dinner

Sanjay Dutt had invited both Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri for dinner because, he was little bit busy at Manaayata's surprise birthday bash. It seems that, he wanted to avoid a conflict between Shah Rukh and Salman Khan, so he left out the former. What we're more interested in is Gauri Khan.

SRK chucks performance, instead teaches dance to audience at IIFA

Shah Rukh Khan never fails to charm! Even if his knee injury restrained him from putting on his usual high-voltage performance, the Bollywood badshah chose to make his audience dance to his steps, and Salman Khan's too!

“If I can't dance, I'll make sure everyone dances here in Toronto tonight,” he said as he spoke to the over 20,000-strong audience at the Roger's Centre for the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony on Saturday night.

The 45-year-old, who kept making off-and-on appearances on stage during the event, was the grand finale performer. Though his performance started with a bang with the peppy number 'Say shava shava', but within a minute it ended leaving fans disappointed.

Little did anyone know that Shah Rukh had more in store for his fans.

“Today, I'll teach you guys different techniques used in Bollywood dancing,” he told his fans.

He took the help of choreographer Shiamak Davar's troupe members in getting thousands of people dancing in the stadium, a key landmark in Toronto.

Teaching his fans how to sway to 'Say shava shava', Shah Rukh suggested the fans to presume they had to 'pull the flush and knock the door'.

Shah Rukh threw another surprise when he chose the title track of his friend-turned-foe Salman Khan's 'Dabangg' for the activity. He even imitated the typical Salman step wherein he keeps his hands inside the pants' pockets, and moves them side to side.

“This step was made because the trousers were made extremely lose,” he quipped.

Aamir's 'Khandaala' and Jeetendra's 'Dhal gaya din...' were also on Shah Rukh's list of dance numbers to be taught. He had colourful hankerchieves and brooms as props for his dance class!

Trust Shah Rukh to engage his audience like no one does.

The audience was, of course, more than elated.

“This gesture of Shah Rukh of teaching us dance steps was very cool. We felt like a part of the whole celebration, and not just spectators,” Riddhima Roy, a 20-year-old said.

A foreigner said: 'It's a great way to learn Bollywood dancing in a humourous way!'

SRK might be the new IIFA ambassador

ZOOM inform that SRK is being offered to step into the role, left/vacant by Mr. Bachchan. After going through the last two award shows without a brand ambassador, it seems that the next edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards will have a new face. And it seems like, Shahrukh Khan, who has been a sort of informal ambassador of IIFA this year, might be officially roped in.
Previously Amitabh Bachchan was the ambassador of the award function. However, he and the organisers, Wizcraft, reportedly parted ways early last year, albeit amicably.
SRK was being heralded as the new face of the awards after he confirmed to perform at the show in Toronto last month. However, it was only recently after a promo featuring him in the forthcoming telecast of the awards went on air that the organisers made the final decision, according to our sources.
A source informs that it was ‘Sabbas Joseph’, founder director of Wizcraft, who suggested his name. "While watching the promo, Sabbas remarked that Shahrukh would make a wonderful ambassador," revealed our source.

Farhan Akhtar talks ZNMD, Don 2 and Don 3

He probably is one of the busiest men in Bollywood right now. Not only is Farhan Akhtar sitting in the director's chair for the sequel to his huge hit Don, he is producing several big films and add on to that he is also starring in sister Zoya Akhtar's second film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. No wonder we haven't heard much from him lately. He recently talked with Subhash K Jha about his upcoming projects. Here are some highlights from that interview.

  • Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is an ensemble piece starring Farhan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, which is scheduled to release in May. According to Farhan, ZNMD 'is about three guys on the verge of making commitments in life'.
  • Farhan said his role in ZNMD is a totally different one from his earlier characters, "In Zoya's Luck By Chance I was a sneaky social climber. In ZNMD it's a sea-change. I play this guy who for the longest time takes nothing seriously. I am not even rich and I don't pretend to be. I'm just happy being the way I am. I got to just let my hair down. Many moments in this film gave me a chance to have lots of fun. After Rock On, Luck By Chance and Karthik Calling Karthik which were all serious angst-laden characters in ZNMD I play a fun character."

  • The film shot extensively in Spain last year. "Yeah, all of us-Zoya, Hrithik, Abhay, Katrina, Kalki and me…became this little commune travelling across Spain. We travelled a lot. Spain has everything from beaches to mountains. So far only Bollywood songs have been shot in Spain." He also clarified that despite the rumors there is no bullfight in the movie but that they did participate in the Running with the Bulls festival.
  • Farhan says they had a blast while shooting the film, "We made sure every scene was fun. Abhay, Hrithik and I spent a lot of time together. We really had some serious fun. Hrithik I knew for a long time. Abhay I got to know during this film. He's a very cool guy."
  • He also revealed two cool things; one that there was a lot of improvisation during the scenes and two that "all three of us Hrithik, Abhay and I, have sung in ZNMD. It's a party situation. It seemed interesting to lend our own voices to our characters. It's turned out really, really well. I am very excited."
  • His first film as an actor was in the film Rock On!!, which was a huge success. However, besides saying that 'the impact of the film still lingers', he did not really talk about his work on the path breaking film, instead he talked about his feelings that his father Javed Akhtar's work on the film's lyrics did not get nearly the praise it deserved. "I genuinely feel my dad (Javed Akhtar) did not get enough credit for the lyrics he wrote in Rock On!!. After such a long time these were songs that were so non-situational. Without any reference point he wrote lyrics that were so contagious and identifiable…Of course everyone loved the music of Rock On. But my dad's calibre of writing in the songs didn't get its due."
  • The director/producer also talked about what he thinks is the secret of success when making a film. "To focus relentlessly on telling a good story. To me that's really important. People remember a good story. Filmmaking begins for me with finding a good story."
  • In his director avatar Farhan has also been working hard on Don 2, which is now about 60% complete. Speaking about working with Shah Rukh Khan on the sequel Farhan said, "I feel in terms of his real-life personality Don, suits Shah Rukh to the hilt. In real life too there's a certain flamboyance and magnetism about Shah Rukh. He brings these qualities effortlessly to the part. Also, like me, he has great respect and love for the original Don (featuring Amitabh Bachchan). At the same time he gives the character his own spin. In the second Don we've taken some of the essence of what Shah Rukh did in the first Don. But we've also given him some new things to do."
  • So, will there be a Don 3? "Yes, why not? Let's see. I do enjoy making Don. Right now I'm just happy creating a whole new story for this character. It's a big challenge for me."

Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif party after Mumbai blasts

While the whole country was mourning the deaths of innocent people killed and were praying for the injured and the families affected after the blasts that shook Mumbai, SRK threw a big bash at his home and was seen partying late into the night in the SAME city. Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Karihsma Kapoor etc. were present at the celebration. The question being raised here is, SRK, who is seen as an icon and is idolised by the youth, is seen displaying such shameful behaviour. Isn't it like rubbing salt into the wounds of affected families?

People are not bothered about his personal life, but isn't being a youth icon a bigger responsiblity than just tweeting something telling you are severely saddened, depressed and devastated and then the next day you are seen partying? This incident proves the double-faced nature of Shahrukh Khan. At least he should have waited until everything came back to normal or postponed the party since this party was really not needed at this hour. He should've learnt something from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who despite travelling all the way to Delhi along with her whole family in her pregnant state to receive her international award but decided to cancel the awards mid-way, right after the news reached the place.

We expected a similar behaviour from Shahrukh, but how shameful it is, that he behaves this way. It also exposes the double faced nature of such actors. Those affected by the blasts were a part of their fans and these actors are stars because these PEOPLE made them stars. In an instance like this, if you cannot support them financially or share their sorrows, at least stay connected to people emotionally, but partying and celebrating at this hour is a disgrace.

Strategy to promote two films at a time

Everyone is talking about SRK’s- 'RA.ONE' and 'DON 2'. The two big bannered films, releasing in a quick blink of time on 26 October and 23 December, respectively. However, everyone's wondering if the promotions will overlap, since there's not much gap between the two releases. It seems that SRK having some busy moments till the release date passed to promote each of two identically, the moment SRK completes promoting RA.ONE, he will soon move on to DON 2, which might lead to overexposure for the star in question.

VIDEO CHHAMAK CHALLO SUNG BY AKON

Okay, Im surprised – whether this is the one rumored track of Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Ra.One’, a leaked track from Akon’s album ‘Stadium’ or a REALLY good impersonation [though all bets are on the former], this track is a surefire hit [it's ALREADY making the rounds all over Facebook].. expect this to feature HEAVILY in mehndis, dance-parties [we love our trance, but nothing sets the mood like some good ol' desi stuff - and Bhagwan knows we've had our fill of both Sheilas and Munnis].. and the stereo systems of Jinnah bo- okay, we’re not going to discriminate.
Check out the song below:

Ra.One is my calling card for VFX & technology for India - Shah Rukh Khan

SRK calls the movie Ra.One is his calling card for VFX & technology in the field of animation, visual effect and special visual effects for India and Bollywood, cause at present we are taking help from the hired Hollywood directors for giving visual effects in the movie.

Let’s hope for the better future, SRK may your efforts ripe and helpful to us also, or you could take any help from the directors of South film industry, they are indeed a lobster to you. As, how they are giving visual effects in their film.

When I listened the song Chhamak challo, I got astonished that: Akon can sing Hindi lines very beautifully. Kaisa sharmana, aaja nach ke dikha de. Aa meri hove aaja parda gira de. Aa meri akhiyon se akhiyan mila le. Aa tu na nakhre dikha seem to be sung almost as good as any foreigner has ever sung in Hindi.

The second thing, the song is a typical Akon number. I don’t know if the song is an Akon’s composition or Vishal-Shekhar’s, but either way, Akon has made it his song completely. The song is addictive as Akon’s songs generally are and I’m pretty sure wannabe my Chhammak challo is gonna be there almost everywhere.

SRK: I'm the great Indian dream

From an outsider to the film industry to its biggest superstar, SRK has managed to script a real life story that has mostly been a reel plot.

SRK does not shy away from talking about this masterstroke of destiny that saw a young man with no connections scale the lofty peaks of Bollywood on his own. In a recent interview, SRK called himself 'the great Indian dream' and rightly so. Explaining it, the superstar says, "I have so much to thank God for. Imagine a guy with no connections, an orphan who did TV to survive becomes a top star on his own. I will call myself the great Indian dream."

SRK, who also admits that his injury issues have taken a toll on his professional commitments says, "When I look back, I sometimes miss the things I could do when I had no injury issues. Because of my injuries, I also couldn't do as much work as I wanted to." And finally talking about RA.ONE, SRK admits that he wants this film to set an example as far as superhero films are concerned.
